The nobility of the fleeting time…
Fe2O3, iron oxide, more commonly called ‘Rust’ has always been the enemy of watchmaking and industry in general which strives constantly to protect its equipment from corrosion, the reflection of time’s hold over matter.
Romain Jerome’s master watchmakers have developed a Rust stabilisation process that protects its rusted timepieces against any further corrosion.
To guarantee the origin of the rusted steel, your RJ authorized agent will deliver a certificate of Compliance from the shipbuilder of the Titanic, the company Harland and Wolff.
Any and all rusted steel bezels have been treated with a protective layer. However, the finish on each piece may vary. As a result of the specific rusting process, some dust may temporarily settle upon the bezel. This dust results naturally from such process, and it will fade away after some period of time. It will not affect or impede the functions of the watch and can be cleaned easily.
Despite the stabilization process, any variations of the rust are indicative of the authenticity of it.
